Lake Como, Italy

 

Sapphire Lake Como has been Italy’s prestige romantic lake ever since

the early days of the Roman Empire, when it was called Lario and

Plynis wrote of the luxuriant beauty surrounding their villas on its shore.

And it is still there, the Lake Como with its grand villas, the mountains and

irregular shore of wooded promontories. It is the third largest of Italian lakes,

and one of the deepest in Europe, plunging down 1.345 feet near Argeno village.

 

From the hotel, proceed via private transportation to the charming little town of Como, after which   lake is named. Como is situated at the south end of Lake and is the center of an active silk industry.

 

Arriving in Como, board a private motor-boat and start our short cruise on the lake. Afterwards group is divided for walking tour of the Old City.

 

Optional Addition:  Pizza Master Class

Roll-up your sleeves and be ready for a get-dirty lesson among flour, eggs, mozzarella, tomato! A most entertaining hands-on exercise whereby you will be involved in the preparation of pizza according to the most typical tradition. The group will be divided in teams who will in turn take part in the preparation of pizza, under the supervision of expert staff.  Participants will be divided into groups and have an opportunity to learn to make pizza and then enjoy the fruits (or pizza) of their labor.
